Hold Onto Your Hope Rope

Sometimes the world seems C.R.A.Z.Y. There is fighting and division and ugliness and anger seemingly everywhere. I feel surrounded. It feels like God is absent and evil is running with a free pass setting everything on fire. Where is He?! It is in these times, when things don't seem to line up, that knowing God's identity--deep in my core-- is pivotal. If I doubted God's lovingkindness, and His goodness, and His power, and His faithfulness, I would be catapulted into the bottom of a pit of fear and despair.

Having another drink isn't going to save me. Popping another pill isn't going to save me. Eating the brownie isn't going to save me. Buying the shoes isn't going to save me. Worrying about tomorrow isn't going to save me. Hiding in my room isn't going to save me. Depending on myself sure isn't going to save me. Sometimes, we have to believe, because there is just nowhere else to go. The Truth about God, and my hope in Him, is the only firm and secure rope I have to hold onto that keeps me from the bottom. Hold onto your hope rope. Pray the prayers over and over, like a guest knocking on the door at midnight. Believe, be watching, stay expectant. Trust in God's power and His love. Cry, swear, yell, but never let go of hope, no matter the lies darkness whispers. Throw your hope rope down to someone who can't find their own. Hold on. Hold onto each other. Love wins, beautiful ones. Love wins.
Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope! Romans 15:13 TPT
